Early Voting ends Feb. 26 for March 3 special primary

Voters who reside in the 5th Congressional District have just one more day to vote early for the March 3 Special Primary, Cook County Clerk David Orr said Wednesday.
The 5th Congressional District is comprised of 486 Chicago precincts and 92 suburban Cook County precincts in Leyden and Proviso townships. Click here to view a map of the suburban portion of the 5th Congressional District.
The three Early Voting sites for suburban residents are:
- Elmwood Park Village Hall, 11 Conti Parkway
- Melrose Park Village Hall, 1000 N. 25th Ave.
- Cook County Clerk's Office, 69 W. Washington, Fifth Floor, Chicago
Chicago residents should visit chicagoelections.com to find their Early Voting sites.
Those choosing to vote early do not need to provide a reason or excuse. Early voters are required to display valid identification before voting, such as a current driver's license, state-issued ID card or another government-issued photo ID.
What are the voting hours?
Early Voting hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Feb. 25, and tomorrow, Feb. 26. On Election Day, polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Are you eligible to vote?
Voters who are unsure about whether they are eligible to vote in the March 3 primary should visit voterinfonet.com and use the Voter's Tool Kit. When voters enter their addresses, their polling location and sample ballot will appear IF they are eligible to vote in the election. While voters do not register by party in Illinois, voters must select a party ballot for the primary.

There are 23 candidates -- 12 Democrats, five Green Party and six Republicans -- running in the 5th Congressional District Special Primary.
